WKC Group recently presented at the IAIAsa 2016 National Conference.

Dr Ian James and Kovania Padayachee from WKC’S South African office presented at the South African Affiliate of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIAsa) 2016 National Conference which was held in Port Elizabeth between 17-19 August 2016. The conference was attended by over 250 delegates and focused on ‘Resilience, Adaptation & Sustainability’.

Dr Ian James presented on innovative ‘Real-Time Air Dispersion Modelling’ which uses the US EPA Regulatory Air Dispersion Model CALPUFF to track and forecast, on a real-time basis, ambient air quality.

Kovania Padayachee presented a critique of the draft Air Quality Offsets Guidelines which have been proposed by the Department of Environmental Affairs of South Africa.

The conference offered a great opportunity to network and showcase WKC’s innovative approach to implementing advancements in air quality modelling, in addition to informing delegates of recent regulatory developments with regards to offsetting emissions within areas of poor air quality. We continue to be committed to the IAIA and look forward to attending future conferences.
